What is Faith?

What is faith?

Each of us will answer this question in our own particular way.

This summer, we have been focusing on: deepening our relationships with God, our relationships with one another, and our relationships with ourselves.

I invite you to explore your own answer to this question; what is faith for you?

Here are some answers that might be given.

Within this list are some of my answers.

Within this list are some seeds for my sermon this Sunday.

Trust.

Belief.

Elusive.

Organized Religion.

Private.

Something other people seem to understand or experience but I don't.

Loyalty.

Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Actionable Trust.

A tiny mustard seed.

Walking on water.

Something I need to have but often feel like I don't.

Perseverance.

A struggle.

Unrealistic.

A muscle?

Naïve.

"Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times.” Martin Luther

Wishful thinking.

An intellectual construct.

My middle name.

A word found in the bible over 500 times.

Something that comes and goes.

What makes the Canaanite (gentile) woman well.

What say you? What is faith for you?
